  • Enlisted with 10th Bn., West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own). Rank Private. No. 18027 on 30th January 1915 aged 32yrs and 6mo. Listed trade was a Horseman, living at Alwent, Winston, Nth Yorks. Height 5' 4" with a dark complexion, brown eyes and medium brown hair.

    Wounded by a shell south-west of Ypres and take to an ambulance in Westoutre, Nr Ypres, Belgium. Lost a leg and died of blood poisoning shortly after. Died of Wounds Thursday, 29th July 1915, aged 33.

    Buried in the churchyard in Westoutre, Heuvelland, west-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
